Leadership Creative Director

Divya V Rao is an Indian creative producer, writer and development executive with over two decades of experience in Bollywood, spanning feature films, advertising, content development, creative production and original idea generation. She has over 22 years in Bollywood, with a career built around originating ideas and developing them into film and content projects.

Divya’s strength lies in identifying compelling real-world stories and shaping them into commercially viable screen properties. From 2010 to 2016, she worked as a Creative Producer at UTV / Disney, where her focus was originating and developing original film and content ideas. She conceived and originated the idea that went on to become Dangal, and took ideas from initial conception through the creative development process while working with writers, directors and production teams. Her association with Dangal is especially significant. Divya pitched the idea after being struck by Mahavir Singh Phogat’s story, and her two-page submission was taken forward to senior leadership, with the film retaining the title Dangal, which she had suggested. This reflects not only creative instinct, but also the ability to recognise IP potential at the earliest stage: before packaging, casting or market validation.

Divya has also worked independently as a Creative Producer and Writer since 2016, with a focus on originating ideas and developing them into film and content projects. She conceived and originated Panga, directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and subsequently developed with Fox, and also conceived and originated Jugaadistan, subsequently developed with Lionsgate.

Her earlier career as an Assistant Director across films and advertising gave her a practical foundation in direction, storytelling, production and the collaborative process of bringing creative vision to screen. This phase from 2004 to 2010, highlights her earlier assistance to filmmakers including Nagesh Kukunoor and Nandita Das.

As Creative Director at CineNow, Divya contributes greatly by bringing strong original-idea generation, early-stage story instinct and development discipline into CineNow’s creative pipeline. Her role is central to sourcing promising concepts, assessing scripts, working with producers and writers, strengthening creative packages, and managing the creative journey from deal sourcing through development, greenlight, production and release. Her experience with Dangal, Panga and Jugaadistan helps CineNow identify stories with both emotional power and long-term IP potential.

Aditya Patil is a full-stack blockchain developer, project manager, and technology lead with over 10 years of cumulative software development experience and more than 4 years of intensive blockchain specialisation. His background spans enterprise-grade decentralised applications, backend micro services, smart contract architecture, tokenisation systems, Web3 integrations, secure data pipelines, and scalable cloud infrastructure. His technical profile covers Solidity, Web3.js, Ethers.js, Ethereum, Polygon, BSC, Hyperledger, ERC protocols, Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and smart contract security tooling.

Although Aditya’s experience is strongly blockchain-led, his skillset is directly relevant to CineNow’s Technology, Data & Analytics function, which requires more than conventional IT support. CineNow needs a technology leader capable of building a transparent operating infrastructure across project tracking, rights management, production status, revenue monitoring, investor dashboards, IP asset registry, tokenisation support, and data-led decision-making across the film investment lifecycle.

Aditya has already worked on technology use cases highly aligned with CineNow’s future platform requirements. He has built tokenomics simulation and stress-testing tools using scenario modelling and dashboard visualisation, giving him relevant experience in turning complex financial structures into transparent, trackable digital systems.

His wider experience includes building exchange infrastructure, NFT marketplaces, smart contract ecosystems, document verification systems, account abstraction protocols, token vesting, staking, voting mechanisms, WhatsApp automation systems, admin panels, API architectures, and secure backend platforms. This combination makes him valuable not only as a blockchain developer, but as a systems architect who can connect Web2 operations with Web3-enabled transparency.

At CineNow, Aditya’s role is to build the digital backbone of the platform: internal dashboards, investor-facing reporting interfaces, IP and rights registries, document workflows, approval systems, production and revenue tracking tools, and data infrastructure that connects the company’s departments into one operating intelligence layer. He also supports tokenisation and digital participation models where legally and commercially viable, while maintaining strong focus on cybersecurity, access control, system reliability, and data governance.

Aditya’s value to CineNow lies in his ability to convert the company’s film-finance model into a scalable technology platform, one where scripts, talent, production milestones, rights, capital deployment, revenue events, valuations, and investor reporting can be tracked with transparency, security, and institutional discipline.

Leadership Legal Affairs Counsel, Gowling WLG

Fiona Robertson is a highly respected media, entertainment and technology lawyer with more than 25 years of experience across broadcast, film, digital media, music, advertising, content regulation, intellectual property and commercial legal affairs. She is best known in the region for her work as General Counsel at OSN, one of the Middle East’s leading entertainment platforms, and for her deep command of the legal and commercial issues that shape the UAE and wider regional media ecosystem.

Fiona’s career combines strong in-house capability with leading private-practice experience. Before OSN, she joined Cedar White Bradley in Dubai to establish its Media and Technology practice, after serving at Al Tamimi & Company as Senior Counsel and Head of Media. Her work includes advising broadcasters, local and international producers, global content platforms, music platforms and entities operating across all levels of the media industry.

Her regional experience is particularly valuable. Fiona moved to Dubai in 2008 and has advised on major film, television, digital media and music matters in the UAE. Earlier in her career in Australia, she worked as an in-house lawyer for Grundy, including on the long-running television series Neighbours, where her responsibilities included script clearance. This gives her a rare dual perspective: understanding legal risk not only from the contract table, but from within the production process itself.

Fiona’s expertise extends across content clearance, production contracts, broadcaster and platform agreements, advertising regulation, IP protection, reputational risk, defamation, regional content sensitivities, rights exploitation and the practical realities of doing business in the Middle East media sector. She has also been recognised publicly as an internationally experienced media lawyer with insights into the legal and commercial aspects of media, creative, advertising, sports and entertainment industries.

What distinguishes Fiona is her ability to combine technical legal depth with commercial pragmatism. Media and entertainment law requires more than document review; it requires judgment, speed, cultural sensitivity, deal awareness and the ability to protect the company while enabling creative and commercial execution. Her background across in-house legal, private practice, broadcasting, production and digital platforms positions her as a senior legal operator who understands both risk and opportunity.

As Head of Legal at CineNow, Fiona Robertson contributes greatly by giving the platform senior legal leadership across film IP, production contracts, rights acquisition, chain-of-title review, platform licensing, distribution arrangements, advertising, regulatory sensitivities and reputational risk. Her UAE media-law expertise and entertainment-sector relationships helps CineNow operate with stronger legal control, cleaner documentation, better rights protection and greater confidence as it scales an institutional film IP investment platform from the UAE into regional and global markets.

In another Al Shirawi contracting certification announcement, he positioned certification as a way to scrutinise existing processes, improve client satisfaction, and strengthen organisational standards.

Krishna’s profile is therefore not merely that of a compliance administrator. He is a systems builder: someone experienced in translating standards, audits, documentation, measurement, risk controls, and governance expectations into practical organisational discipline. His background with BSI-led certification environments is especially relevant for organisations seeking ISO-style operating credibility, audit readiness, and repeatable control systems.

At CineNow, Krishna leads Compliance & Governance, covering internal governance, company secretarial coordination, compliance calendars, policy frameworks, committee protocols, council documentation, conflict-of-interest registers, investment committee records, partner onboarding controls, and verification inputs for investor reporting. His role ensures that CineNow is run as a standards-led, audit-ready organisation where directors, councils, management, external partners, and investor communications operate through documented procedures, clear controls, and institutionally defensible governance.

For CineNow, his value is the ability to convert a relationship-driven film investment platform into a professionally governed, ISO-style operating ecosystem with the process discipline expected by serious investors.

Leadership Exhibition, IPR & Revenue Partnerships

Yusuf Shaikh is a veteran film industry professional with over 25 years of experience across film distribution, exhibition, production, acquisition, IPR management, and revenue strategy. His career has been built around a practical understanding of how films move from producers to audiences — across theatres, territories, rights windows, platforms, and commercial partners.

Yusuf began his journey in the distribution and exhibition ecosystem, where he developed deep market knowledge of theatrical release mechanics, territory behaviour, exhibitor relationships, audience access, screen allocation, pricing, and revenue recovery. Over the years, he has distributed more than 85 films, produced multiple projects, and built a reputation for understanding both the commercial and operational realities of Indian film monetisation.

He later founded Yen Movies, expanding his work across production, marketing, distribution, and exhibition. This gave him full-stack exposure to the film lifecycle, from acquisition and packaging through release planning, rights exploitation, and revenue realisation. His experience is especially valuable in an industry where monetisation depends not only on content quality, but also on timing, access, rights control, distribution leverage, and channel strategy.

As Head of Distribution & IPR at Percept Pictures, Yusuf led acquisition, distribution, and rights-management initiatives across multiple projects. This strengthened his expertise in structuring monetisation pathways across theatrical, satellite, digital, and ancillary rights. His work across mainstream and unconventional projects, including experimental formats such as Sabki Bajegi Band, reflects his willingness to explore new commercial models within the theatrical and non-theatrical ecosystem.

Beyond conventional distribution, Yusuf has demonstrated an infrastructure-first approach to solving one of Indian cinema’s core challenges: limited screen access. Through Janta Cinema, he has focused on expanding exhibition possibilities by converting underutilised spaces into cinema venues, helping unlock new audience demand across underserved markets. His involvement with industry bodies and forums such as IMPPA and FFI further places him close to producer concerns, distribution trends, and wider industry discussions.

At CineNow, Yusuf’s role strengthens monetisation beyond standard distribution channels. His value lies in building exhibition partnerships, alternative release opportunities, IPR monetisation structures, satellite and ancillary revenue routes, regional access, and long-tail rights strategies. He helps CineNow ensure that each film is not only financed and produced, but positioned to extract maximum value across every available revenue window.

Leadership Commercial

Mini Sarma is a UAE-based film production and commercial executive with deep experience at the intersection of Indian cinema, government-facing production support, line production, location facilitation and large-scale shoot execution in the UAE. Over the past decade, she has become one of the recognised bridges between Indian producers and the UAE production ecosystem, helping films navigate locations, permissions, local crews, incentives, logistics and execution requirements across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah & Ras Al Khaimah.

Mini’s profile combines entrepreneurial production experience with institutional exposure. She was the CEO / General Manager of 7 Media, a UAE production company involved in major Indian film shoots, and later as Head of Indian Production at the Abu Dhabi Film Commission & Strategic Head of Creative Media Authority (CMA Abu Dhabi). The Abu Dhabi Film Commission is part of Abu Dhabi’s Creative Media Authority, which supports the emirate’s creative sector and offers production support including scouting, permits, visas, customs clearance and production rebates starting from 35%.

Her association with Indian cinema is extensive. Through 7 Media, several major Bollywood projects, including Pathaan, Happy New Year, Airlift, Laxmmi Bomb, Raees, Zero, Take Off, Koode, were line produced. And other projects in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, which were War 2, BMCM 2, Bloody Daddy, Vikram Vedha, Dishoom, Baby, Tiger Zinda Hai, Bunty Aur Babli 2, Bharat, Saaho, Race 3, etc.

Mini’s value as a production professional lies in her ability to understand both sides of a film’s requirements: the producer’s need for efficiency, cost control and creative flexibility, and the host jurisdiction’s need for compliance, permissions, local spend, reputational protection and operational discipline. Her career reflects practical knowledge of budgeting realities, local supplier ecosystems, location economics, government coordination, rebate-linked planning, production scheduling and the commercial sensitivities that determine whether an international shoot is viable.

Mini Sarma contributes greatly by bringing senior UAE production access, government-facing credibility and line-production intelligence into CineNow’s producer negotiations. Her role would be instrumental in engaging with producers whose films have been greenlit, pressure-testing proposed budgets, negotiating fair and justifiable production costs, identifying UAE-linked efficiencies, and ensuring that production economics remain commercially disciplined without compromising creative ambition. For CineNow, this would directly strengthen cost control, producer accountability, execution confidence and the commercial integrity of each approved film investment.

Executive Director, Tokenisation & Digital Assets Architecture Founder, Blockphrase

Ashish Homkar leads Blockphrase's work in tokenising real-world assets — spanning real estate, intellectual property, and other alternative asset classes, translating complex, illiquid ownership structures into compliant, blockchain-enabled digital instruments. He is the Founder & CEO of Blockphrase, an institutional digital-asset advisory firm operating across tokenisation, regulatory structuring and blockchain development, with advisory roots in Mumbai and a technology presence in Dubai.

Ashish's core expertise lies in the compliance and regulatory architecture that underpins credible tokenisation — legal wrapping, jurisdictional alignment, asset ownership clarity, transfer rules and investor access controls. He brings hands-on familiarity with UAE digital-asset regulatory frameworks — including VARA, FSRA and DFSA — alongside engagement with Indian regulators, including participation in discussions on tokenisation and the Unified Market Interface at the Reserve Bank of India in Mumbai, and public commentary on the RBI's Certificate of Deposit tokenisation pilot and the broader movement of tokenised money-market instruments toward settlement efficiency and market integrity.

Alongside regulatory work, Ashish specialises in structuring and token mechanics — economic modelling, game theory, incentive design and tokenomics architecture, building the mechanics that allow tokenised assets to function as credible, tradable instruments rather than speculative wrappers. His background includes equity trading since 2018, crypto trading since 2020, a BSc in Financial Markets from the University of Mumbai, NISM certification and CFA Level 1 candidacy.

His broader Web3 experience spans more than five years in crypto markets, with a practical understanding of secondary market mechanics, liquidity design and tokenomics at scale. Under his leadership, Blockphrase has served more than 50 clients across the US, Europe, UAE, India and Southeast Asia, working with both Web3 founders and traditional institutions entering the digital asset space. At CineNow, Ashish contributes greatly by helping translate CineNow's film-IP investment thesis into a structured digital-asset framework. His experience across tokenomics, RWA tokenisation, compliance-first advisory, economic modelling, smart-contract architecture and investor-facing token strategy supports CineNow in designing tokenised film IP as a credible, transparent and institutionally understandable asset class rather than a speculative Web3 layer.

He is currently Vice President of Global Development at Luna PR, a global communications and strategic advisory agency specialising in Web3 and emerging technology. Before Luna PR, Hamed was one of the first five employees at Pathos Communications, where he built the company's commercial infrastructure and global sales function during its formative years before its eventual listing on the London Stock Exchange. He began his career in finance at Legrand (Fortune 500 Europe), providing a foundation in traditional financial markets before transitioning into blockchain and digital assets.

Hamed’s relevance to tokenisation comes from his work at the intersection of digital assets, capital formation, market positioning and ecosystem development. He has advised founders, funds and institutions on positioning, market entry and ecosystem expansion, and has been instrumental in launching tokens, supporting capital raises and aligning projects with global regulatory and institutional frameworks. This gives him a practical understanding of tokenisation not merely as a technical issuance process, but as a capital-markets exercise involving trust, timing, investor education, liquidity narrative, regulatory alignment and institutional adoption.

He has spoken or moderated at 20+ leading global conferences. At the Global Blockchain Congress in Dubai, he moderated the panel “Crypto’s Next Chapter: From Hype to Fundamentals,” focused on real-world utility, sustainable models and regulatory clarity in digital assets. As Director, Tokenisation and Capital Markets at CineNow, Hamed Faqirzai contributes greatly by helping translate CineNow’s film-IP thesis into a credible tokenisation and capital-markets narrative. His experience across token launches, institutional positioning, Web3 stakeholder networks, capital-raise support, global market entry and regulatory-facing communication helps CineNow build confidence among investors, technology partners and ecosystem participants as it prepares to position film IP as a structured, tokenisation-ready alternative asset class.

Rohit is a global entrepreneur and capital strategist focused on transforming how large-scale assets are financed, structured, and monetised. As Director of CineNow Limited (BVI), he leads the development of a $150 million institutional film fund designed to bring structure, transparency, and scalability to the global film industry - a sector historically constrained by fragmented financing models and limited liquidity.

Central to Rohit’s vision is the integration of tokenisation as a high-value exit mechanism, unlocking liquidity beyond traditional distribution and studio-led models. By leveraging blockchain infrastructure, CineNow expands investor access, introduces secondary market potential, and positions film intellectual property as a scalable, digital-first asset class. This approach not only enhances return potential but also redefines how film assets are owned, traded, and monetised.

Beyond structuring the fund, Rohit has established strategic partnerships across production houses, distribution networks, and global capital providers, creating a vertically integrated ecosystem that supports the full lifecycle of film assets from development through monetisation. His ability to align creative industries with institutional capital has positioned CineNow as a next-generation platform bridging entertainment and finance.

Rohit’s broader experience spans over 25 years across technology, media, and investment management. As Founder & CEO of Haitech Solutions, he leads initiatives in blockchain, AI, and digital asset infrastructure, including SolidusQX, a real-world asset tokenisation platform with over $1 billion in signed mandates. At the intersection of capital, technology, and content, Rohit is redefining film not merely as a creative output, but as a structured, institutional-grade asset class. Through CineNow, his objective is clear: to unlock scale, introduce liquidity, and establish a new financial paradigm for the global film industry.

His professional pedigree is anchored in the rare combination of investment banking experience, corporate finance discipline, fundraising execution, operational finance, and cash-flow control making him a finance leader who understands both capital formation and business sustainability.

He is widely recognised for his role in building and scaling some of India’s most prominent high-growth companies. Public profiles identify him as having played key finance leadership roles across PharmEasy, Country Delight, and Zepto, three major Indian startup journeys that required institutional capital, rapid scaling, financial control, and investor confidence. He is a finance leader who contributed to building three unicorns with experience in raising over $8 billion in equity and debt.

Jitendra’s career is particularly notable because he has not operated only as a transaction-side fundraiser. He has worked inside companies during critical phases of growth, where capital strategy must be matched by working-capital control, unit economics, budgeting discipline, treasury management, reporting systems, and a path toward profitability. This is the profile of a CFO who does not merely raise money, he knows how to make capital work inside a business.

His experience also includes investment banking and broader capital markets exposure. Currently heading Capinity Partners and Tetration Ventures, he has worked with ICICI, IDFC, and Macquarie, in addition to his operating roles at Zepto, Country Delight, and PharmEasy. For CineNow, Jitendra brings precisely the financial lens required to make a film investment platform institutionally credible: capital markets discipline, cash-flow mastery, fundraising experience, debt-equity structuring, working-capital control, and investor-grade financial thinking. His contribution is especially valuable in designing how capital is deployed across the slate, how cash flows are monitored project-by-project, how recycled capital is governed, how liquidity is planned, and how investor confidence is maintained through transparent financial architecture. In a film ecosystem where creative ambition often outruns financial discipline, Jitendra’s value to CineNow is his ability to make capital movement structured, measurable, and defensible.

Strategic Council Founding Member, Strategic Council Padma Shri - Oscar-Winning Sound Designer

Dr. Resul Pookutty is one of India’s most internationally celebrated sound designers and a respected global ambassador of Indian cinema. He is best known for Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, for which he received the Academy Award®, BAFTA Award, and Cinema Audio Society Award — becoming the first Asian to win all three major honours in sound.

He has also been conferred the Padma Shri by the Government of India for his extraordinary contribution to cinema. A National Award winner with multiple state honours, Dr. Resul has worked on over 100 films across Indian and international cinema and is widely recognised as a pioneer of sync sound in India.

At CineNow, Dr. Resul’s role on the Strategic Council is highly valuable because sound and music are not merely creative elements in Indian cinema, they are major commercial assets. Songs, background scores, sound design, dubbing quality, theatrical mix, and audio identity can influence audience recall, marketing power, platform value, music rights, regional adaptability, and international presentation.

His presence gives CineNow strategic insight into how audio can strengthen the full commercial lifecycle of a film from script and production design to post-production, theatrical experience, OTT delivery, music-led promotion, and rights monetisation.

Beyond his creative achievements, Dr. Resul is also a philanthropist, educator, innovator, and institution-builder through his work in sound technology, education, and the Resul Pookutty Foundation.

Strategic Council Founding Member, Strategic Council President, IMPAA & FFI Vice President, FIAPF Director, Yashi Films

Abhay Sinha is a senior institutional leader in the Indian film industry, currently serving as President of the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA), President of the Film Federation of India (FFI), and Vice President of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). His profile brings together national producer representation, apex-level Indian industry leadership, and international producer-network access making him a highly strategic figure for CineNow’s film investment and ecosystem-building mandate.

As President of IMPPA, one of India’s oldest and most important producer associations, Abhay Sinha represents a large and influential producer community across the Indian motion picture ecosystem. His leadership gives him direct visibility into the challenges producers face across financing, rights, production, certification, distribution, theatrical access, OTT transition, and industry representation. For CineNow, this experience is highly valuable because the platform’s success depends on building trust with producers and aligning capital with the realities of film creation.

His election as President of the Film Federation of India further strengthens his national-level relevance. FFI is described as the apex body representing producers, distributors, exhibitors, studios, and allied film associations across India, and also plays a role in policy advocacy, industry development, global representation, and selection of India’s official entry to the Academy Awards. This gives Abhay Sinha a broader ecosystem perspective beyond production alone covering the complete value chain of Indian cinema.

Internationally, his appointment as Vice President of FIAPF places him within a global federation of producer associations, representing film producers across more than 30 countries. This gives CineNow access to a wider international producer network and strengthens its ability to explore cross-border relationships, co-production visibility, festival-market positioning, and global industry alignment.

While his production background through Yashi Films provides practical grounding in content creation and regional cinema, his primary relevance to CineNow is his institutional reach. His roles across IMPPA, FFI, and FIAPF position him as a bridge between Indian producers, national industry bodies, international film organisations, and the broader film value chain.

As a Founding Member of CineNow’s Strategic Council, Abhay Sinha brings more than reputation. He brings producer trust and international connectivity, policy visibility, association-level access and global credibility.

Over two decades, Neha Kaul has built a career at the intersection of filmmaking, audience strategy and global distribution, working across production, marketing, publicity and distribution and long tail revenue strategy. Her experience with leading studios and platforms including Disney Studios India, UTV Motion Pictures and Netflix in addition to her roles as an independent Film Producer and Impact Strategist has given her a rare understanding of the complete lifecycle of a film and its economic and cultural sustainability across its creative positioning and first audience encounter to its theatrical, streaming, international, festival and awards journey.

She has played a part in bringing more than 300 films and campaigns to audiences, including All We Imagine As Light (Cannes Grand Prix Winner), Sabar Bonda (Best Dramatic Film, Sundance Winner), The Elephant Whisperers (Academy Award Winner), Delhi Crime (Emmy Winner), Sacred Games (Netflix), P.K. (UTV), The Jungle Book (Disney) and Dangal (Disney). Her work is rooted in a simple conviction: that great stories deserve not only to be made, but to be found, understood and carried meaningfully to audiences. Neha’s strength lies in her ability to combine creative instinct with market architecture.

She understands how to position a film for visibility, how to build campaign narratives across cultures, how to work with studios, streamers and go-to-market teams, and how to design release strategies that support both prestige and commercial outcomes. Her career reflects the modern reality of filmed entertainment: success is shaped not only by the quality of the film, but by timing, audience mapping, market entry, festival credibility, platform strategy, earned media, distribution leverage and long-tail perception.

Her association with Dangal is particularly significant. The film became one of India’s strongest global box-office case studies, generating approximately US$303.7 million worldwide, including approximately US$193.1 million from China alone. She led both Marketing and International Distribution for the film, whose cross-border performance remains a landmark example of how Indian stories, when positioned and distributed intelligently, can travel far beyond their domestic base and unlock major international value. As a Producer & Campaign Strategist, her recent work includes Stolen (Venice 2023, Amazon Prime Video), Sabar Bonda (Sundance 2025 Winner – Best Drama), Shadowbox (Berlinale Panorama 2025), The Ink Stained Hand and the Missing Thumb (Karlovy Vary 2026).

She is currently developing and engaged on projects in partnership with notable filmmakers and creative production outfits including, Richie Mehta, Tiger Baby Productions (Zoya Akhtar & Reema Kagti), Roy Kapur Films, Spirit Media (Rana Daggubati), Rock Honey Films, Karan Tejpal to champion South Asian stories across global platforms. As an Investment Committee Member at CineNow, Neha contributes greatly by bringing a powerful commercial and critical lens to film evaluation, especially around marketability, distribution pathways, audience reach, festival potential, global positioning and long-term IP value.

Her experience across studio-scale films, Oscar, Emmy, Cannes and Sundance-recognised projects, streaming platforms and international campaigns helps CineNow assess not only whether a film can be made, but whether it can travel, scale, monetise and endure as a valuable entertainment asset.

Jaideep Sahni is one of India’s most respected screenwriters, lyricists and creative voices, known for building stories that combine strong narrative architecture with deep observation of Indian society. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has written some of Hindi cinema’s most memorable and culturally resonant films, including Company, Bunty Aur Babli, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Chak De! India, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and Shuddh Desi Romance. His work is widely recognised for capturing India’s everyday ambitions, social tensions, institutional pressures and emotional contradictions with rare authenticity.

Sahni’s strength lies in his ability to read both story and context. His films are rarely built only around plot; they are built around worlds, systems, conflicts and characters that feel sharply rooted in lived reality. Company examined power, ambition and organised crime with unusual restraint; Khosla Ka Ghosla turned a property dispute into a humane and memorable social comedy; Chak De! India transformed a sports narrative into a story of leadership, identity and national redemption; and Rocket Singh explored ethics, enterprise and workplace culture through the lens of an ordinary salesman.

His body of work reflects a rare balance of creative instinct, audience understanding and structural discipline. Sahni has shown the ability to identify stories that are commercially accessible while retaining originality, intelligence and cultural depth. This makes his judgment especially valuable in an industry where strong scripts, durable characters and audience relevance are central to long-term content value. His writing has also received major industry recognition, including Filmfare honours for Company and Khosla Ka Ghosla, along with an IIFA Award for Best Story for Chak De! India.

Beyond individual credits, Sahni represents a generation of Indian screenwriters who helped move Hindi cinema toward more grounded, screenplay-led storytelling. His work demonstrates a deep understanding of how ideas become cinematic assets: through strong premise, world-building, emotional stakes, character clarity and audience connection. His continued relevance across feature films and long-form content also reflects his ability to evaluate stories beyond trend cycles and identify material with lasting creative and commercial potential.

As an Independent Investment Committee Member at CineNow, Jaideep Sahni contributes greatly by bringing elite script-reading ability, story evaluation discipline and a creator’s understanding of durable IP. His perspective helps the committee assess projects beyond star value or production packaging, focusing instead on screenplay strength, narrative originality, cultural relevance, audience longevity and monetisation potential. For a platform seeking to institutionalise investment in film IP, his judgment would be invaluable in identifying stories with both creative integrity and long-term asset value.

Sameer Nair is one of India’s most respected media and entertainment executives, with a career spanning more than three decades across broadcast television, studio leadership, scripted content, platform strategy, and premium IP development. He brings the rare profile of an operator who has repeatedly helped define new phases of the Indian entertainment market from mass television to format-led programming to streaming-first content studios.

Sameer’s early industry impact was shaped at Star India, where he rose through senior leadership roles and became one of the key executives behind Star Plus’ transformation into India’s dominant Hindi entertainment network. He is widely associated with the launch and scaling of Kaun Banega Crorepati and the early-2000s Star Plus programming wave that reset Indian prime-time television, including the Balaji Telefilms-led fiction boom. His work at Star established him as a leader capable of aligning content, audience behaviour, network strategy, and commercial scale.

After Star, Sameer went on to lead NDTV Imagine as CEO, where he helped build a new Hindi entertainment channel with mythology, historical, and reality programming. He later served as Group CEO of Balaji Telefilms, working closely with the company’s leadership to strengthen its content and strategic direction across television and film. This phase reinforced his ability to operate across both creative strategy and commercial execution.

His most significant recent chapter was at Applause Entertainment, the Aditya Birla Group-backed content and IP creation studio. Sameer led Applause from 2017 until his departure in 2026, helping build it into one of India’s leading premium scripted-content studios. Under his leadership, Applause developed a platform-agnostic model focused on original series, adaptations, and premium storytelling for India’s streaming market. At Applause, Sameer was associated with some of India’s most prominent streaming titles, including Scam 1992, Criminal Justice, Hostages, City of Dreams, Avrodh, Scam 2003, Black Warrant, and The Hunt. Business Today described Applause’s “hub and spoke” model and noted that Scam 1992 became a defining success after a slate that had already included Criminal Justice, Hostages, and City of Dreams.

As an Independent Committee Member of CineNow, Sameer brings independent judgment, content-market intelligence, platform understanding, and institutional credibility. His role is especially valuable in evaluating whether projects have genuine IP strength, platform relevance, audience pull, production scalability, and long-term monetisation potential. His presence strengthens CineNow’s decision-making framework by adding seasoned, independent oversight from one of India’s most accomplished content executives helping ensure that creative ambition, commercial logic, and investor discipline remain aligned.

Over the years, he has built a rare cross-functional understanding of the entertainment business, combining on-screen experience with commercial, operational and content-led responsibilities across multiple formats. He is an Indian actor, comedian, television personality and media professional, with appearances across films, television and digital formats.

Before moving deeper into the creative and production side of the business, Menon’s career also included exposure to sales, finance and media monetisation. He began in sales with Crompton Greaves, later worked with 20th Century Finance, and then entered media through The Times of India’s Response sales team. This gives him an unusually broad foundation across revenue, client relationships, media operations and creative execution.

Menon later built significant experience as an entrepreneur and content operator. He was the Co-Founder of One Network Entertainment and Founder of WCV Meridian, reflecting his continued involvement in independent media, content and entertainment ventures. In 2021, MX Player appointed him as Content and Creative Head for MX Studios, its content and creative solutions division designed to help brands tell scripted, audience-relevant stories while also serving advertiser objectives. His MX Studios role is particularly relevant because it required a balance of content judgement, business needs, advertiser expectations, production coordination and platform thinking. MX Player’s ecosystem later became part of Amazon MX Player after Amazon acquired select MX Player assets and merged them with Amazon miniTV, creating a large free streaming service in India.

As Director of Business Affairs at CineNow, Suresh Menon serves as an organisation-wide operating leader, looking after cross-functional coordination across content, talent, production, partnerships, platform requirements, commercial execution and day-to-day business alignment.
